DENYS DARLOW (1921 to 2015)

Denys Darlow started the Tilford Bach Society in 1952 and the Festival is still flourishing under the artistic directorship of Adrian Butterfield. He also started the London Handel Festival in 1978 and we are busy planning the 39th Festival with Laurence Cummings at the helm.

We have gathered together a group of singers and players who were helped and encouraged by Denys early in their careers. It is very appropriate that they will be performing in not only Handel's Church but also the home of the London Handel Festival.

The programme will include some of Denys' favourite works by Bach and Handel.

We hope that you will come and enjoy a wonderful evening of music and a celebration of a very busy life. We want to thank Denys for all that he did for many of us in the music business, and the enormous pleasure he gave to our audiences in bringing Handel in his many guises to their attention.
