The 2016 London Handel Festival is over, and it has been another triumph. I am delighted to be appointed the new Festival Director, and I wish to pay tribute to Catherine Hodgson for her tireless and dedicated work over the past 17 years.
I have over 15 years of experience working in a range of arts organisations, including Shakespeare’s Globe, Handel House and latterly the Royal College of Music, with a particular specialism in fundraising and marketing. I am also a professionally trained tenor, and run a chamber choir in London, Pegasus, who have performed on many occasions at the Festival.
I would like to thank all of our long-standing supporters, audiences and musicians who make the London Handel Festival the great success it is every year, and I look forward to meeting you all in person. Details of the Festival next year will be available from September, with booking starting in January 2017. Before then, we have our popular Messiah at St George's, Hanover Square, which will be on Thursday 1 December 2016, with booking starting in October.
