The London Handel Society is a charity dedicated to the celebration of the life and work of the composer and committed to bringing his work to a wide and diverse community. We are seeking a Treasurer to support the work of the charity.
The job description is below, but in summary we are looking for someone to manage the finances of the charity and to work both with our small full-time staff and other trustees.
Please see the attached document for more information about the festival. If there are any questions about what this role will involve, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The successful candidate is likely to hold an accountancy qualification and to have worked in the finance function at a reasonably large organisation in the public, private or charitable sectors.
We welcome applications from everyone who has the experience and skills to take on these responsibilities as well as the necessary time.
We are looking for a person with an open mind and contemporary outlook, with an enthusiasm for working at a progressive charity. The successful candidate will be able to connect and relate to people from all walks of life.
We do not require the candidate to be a Handel enthusiast, or even a classical music enthusiast. A board comprising individuals of diverse backgrounds is important to us.
We do however require that the candidate is able to bring passion and drive to the role.
This is a vital role to allow the charity to flourish and continue to develop its activities. Particularly given the pandemic, careful attention to the finances of the charity is essential.
This is an opportunity to make a key contribution to a well regarded charity and to work with a team of people coming together to bring Handel’s music to a wider audience.
