In association with The London Handel Festival, Adrian Butterfield directs the Southbank Sinfonia Baroque in a feast of music from the Royal Courts. Expect joyous dance music full of energy and exuberance!
With historical performance an integral part of the Southbank Sinfonia experience, the players will be performing using historic practices. It’s an unmissable evening sure to whisk you off your feet back in time to the majestic Royal Courts.
Southbank Sinfonia are also delighted to welcome 2nd prize winner in the International Handel Singing Competition 2021, Bethany Horak-Hallett, to the programme.

Join us for a very special recital with soprano Lucy Crowe accompanied by Musical Director of LHF, Laurence Cummings for an evening of some of Handel’s best-loved works.
This concert is in collaboration with The Music Therapy Charity which was formed in 1969 to promote and support the activities of music therapists; its main funding is to music therapy research and bursaries for music therapists in training. It is the only funding body in the UK specifically supporting high quality research.

In preparation for the 2023 Spring Festival, at this event, Festival Director Gregory Batsleer will introduce the 2023 Festival programme in conversation with opera director Adele Thomas. They will discuss what events LHF have lined up and what you can expect.
The evening will include a glass of champagne upon arrival as well as a short performance by Musical Director Laurence Cummings and first prize winner of the 2022 International Handel Singing Competition, Alexander Chance.

The London Handel Festival’s annual Messiah returns to St George’s, Hanover Square this December. Adrian Butterfield will conduct the London Handel Orchestra and choir of St George’s with all soloists having been winners or finalists in the International Handel Singing Competition. These include soprano, Hilary Cronin, countertenor Alexander Chance, tenor Ruairi Bowen and baritone Felix Kemp.
