Our 2025 Get involved! series offers new ways for audiences and Handel lovers to get behind the scenes of the Festival, meet the artists and get to know Handel’s music in new and engaging ways.
L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato: Open Rehearsal
March 6th at St George’s, Hanover Square

Join Arcangelo’s Artistic Director Jonathan Cohen and General Manager Julian Forbes at the final full cast and ensemble rehearsal for the opening concert of the 2025 LHF, and Arcangelo’s first appearance as Principal Ensemble in Residence. Guests will be able to sit and observe the rehearsal, and to ask questions about the music and the rehearsal process.

Come and Sing!
March 8th at Grosvenor Chapel
1pm – 5pm
Handel lovers and amateur singers are invited to join acclaimed conductor, Artistic Director of I Fagiolini and early music specialist Robert Hollingworth for a day of singing and Handel exploration.
Robert will lead singers through a day of Handel exploration, focussing on how text and music combine to create.
Repetoire to include choruses from Ode on the birthday of Queen Anne, Acis and Galatea, and Solomon.

Songpath is a mental health and music initiative, encouraging creative connection to the world around us through walking, talking, and music-making in nature.

CHAMBER MUSIC MASTERCLASS
March 12th at St George’s, Hanover Square
2.30pm – 5pm
Arcangelo Artistic Director Jonathan Cohen and konzertmeister Zefira Valova work with student ensembles from the UK’s music colleges in a special public masterclass, examining a range of chamber music repertoire from across the Baroque era and exploring its diverse technical and stylistic requirements.

A Handel Talk
The Great Handel Revival: In Conversation with Sir Nicholas Kenyon
March 15th at Handel Hendrix House
4pm – 5pm
Join Chairman of Arcangelo, journalist and early music scholar Sir Nicholas Kenyon at Handel Hendrix House for a special talk about the rise in popularity of Handel’s Music in London across the last half century.

Come and Play!
13th April at Duke’s Hall: Royal Academy of Music
Calling all instrumentalists! This year LHF is presenting the festival’s first ever Come and Play, a full-day workshop led by Steven Devine and Kinga Ujszászi (Cabinet of Wonders) for those interested in period instruments and historically informed performance techniques. Taking place at the Royal Academy of Music’s Dukes Hall, participants in this event will experience a deep immersion in two distinct English historical performance styles of the baroque and reformation periods, and will receive stylistic and technical guidance from world-leading professional tutors in the context of a large ensemble performance.
