COVID-19: Keeping our audiences, performers, staff and volunteers safe

This page is updated as new information becomes available.  Latest update: 26 October 2020

Good to Go Accredited

The London Handel Festival is certified by Visit England as a ‘We’re a Good to Go’ organisation, a UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark to reassure our audiences that we adhere to Government and public health guidance.

Audience Guidelines

We are implementing Covid-19 safe arrangements for our audiences based on current government guidance and following robust risk assessment. It is vital, for your own health and safety and that of others, that you adhere to the arrangements that have been put in place, and that are detailed in our Audience Guidelines

Coronavirus Declaration

We ask all audiences to read and agree to the following statement about COVID-19 prior to confirming their booking:

I declare that I am not aware of having been infected with Covid-19 over the last 14 days nor of having come into contact with anybody infected over the last 14 days. By attending this event I acknowledge the contagious nature of Covid-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may become exposed or infected, and that such exposure or infection may result in severe consequences to my health. I hereby accept not to hold London Handel Society Limited, its trustees and staff, the performers and other people in attendance responsible for any illness, injury or damage to my health resulting from a Covid-19 infection, whether this happens before, during or after the event.

What to expect at LHF concerts

Entrances – entry to the building will be dependent on location of seats and will be clearly signposted.

Seating – seats are available to book in household/support bubble groups of 1, 2 up to a maximum of 3 people.  Groups of seats are spaced and socially distanced from each other.  The normal capacity of our concerts has been significantly reduced to allow for socially-distanced seating and you will notice there are far fewer seats available to book as a result of this safety measure.

Interval – an interval of up to 20 minutes will take place at each concert

Toilet facilities – facilities will be available at St George’s, Hanover Square and will be accessible via a carefully managed queuing system to respect social distancing.  All facilities are cleaned before and after concerts and soap and handtowels replenished.

Hand sanitiser – is available at entrances and in the venue.  Sanitiser must be used on entry to the venue

Face-coverings – must be worn at all times by the audience.
