“The greatest Master of Music that ever sang upon the Stage” was how one contemporary described the tenor Annibale “Ballino” Pio Fabri, who inspired some of Handel’s most celebrated music for the tenor voice. Opera Settecento are joined by rising star, Jorge Navarro Colorado, to present a recital inspired by this extraordinary voice, including modern-day premières of music by Handel. Arias by Vivaldi and Scarlatti are presented alongside those by Caldara, Mancini and other lesser-known masters, showcasing the musical career of one of the eighteenth century’s finest voices by some of today’s leading exponents of Baroque opera.
