Messiah Reimagined Sing At Home Chorus December 2021

The submission deadline date for the Sing At Home Chorus is Sunday 19 September. We cannot guarantee inclusion of any submissions after this date.
The performance will be on Friday 10 December, 7pm St John’s Smiths Square with the “Sing at Home” Chorus, multiple choral partners integrating pre-recorded Messiah Choruses join an adaptation of our regular performance of the Messiah by taking part in a virtual “Sing at Home” Chorus under the under the inspirational leadership of our musical director, Laurence Cummings.
Each choir member will have access to a backing track specially recorded by the London Handel Orchestra and will prepare three choruses ‘And the glory’, ‘Worthy is the Lamb’ and the magnificent ‘Hallelujah!’. Rehearsing at home, and with three rehearsal sessions with Laurence, choir members will work towards submitting a recording of themselves for inclusion in a professionally produced video and integrated into the live performance on 10 December.
Clear and easy instructions for your video are included plus a special invitation to a live panel discussions with leading Messiah experts. The “Sing at Home” Chorus is open to anyone although we do ask participants to be able to sight read and have some choral experience. There are a limited number of places available so do book as soon as possible. Please also be aware that videos will need to be submitted by the deadline, which will be confirmed shortly, and we cannot guarantee to include any received after this date.
