A laurence Cummings Recital: Travels with my Harpsichord: A Retrospective

“Laurence Cummings now ranks as one of the composer’s best advocates in the world. Self-effacing on the podium, faithful above all to the score, he matches Handel’s energy and invention with unmistakable lyricism, generosity and dignity.” The Guardian

London Handel Festival Musical Director Laurence Cummings is one of the world’s leading authorities on the music of Handel. He is in demand as a conductor with ensembles and opera companies throughout the world. Loved and admired by musicians and audiences wherever he performs, he has made the continued evolution and performance of Handel’s music part of his life’s mission.

As part of this intimate recital from Handel’s church, Laurence shares stories of how Handel’s music found its way so profoundly into his life.  He will tell tales of his most memorable Handel performances and will perform some of Handel’s most loved music from the keyboard.
