Handel in Letters

Handel in Letters

Handel was the subject of extensive correspondence in the 18th century. Friends, patrons, colleagues and even rivals could not resist writing about his latest compositions, operatic triumphs, changing fortunes and the gossip that surrounded him.

Renowned Handel authority and much-loved former Musical Director of the London Handel Festival, Laurence Cummings, returns to present an original programme of music drawn from these letters, interwoven with readings from the correspondence itself.

This performance has been devised and directed by Martin Parr.
